1983 Hot Wheels Real Riders Baja Breaker

The Hot Wheels Baja Breaker is a 4×4 version of the third generation Ford Econoline van. It was first released in 1978 and is still going strong with over 50 variations produced. Originally cast with a plastic opening hood, the Baja Breaker was retooled in 1989 with a closed hood. This 1983 example from the Real Riders series is another of my Wichita eBay finds.

Other Baja Breakers in my collection include a nice example of the 1978 first releasethe 1979 Motocross Team van from the Scene Machines seriesboth the Malaysia-cast green 1980 model and the 1980 Hong Kong casting, and the orange version from 1983. I have the 1984 blackwall variation of A-Team inspired modelthe same version from the 1984 Real Riders series, and another A-Team inspired model from 1989 with construction tires. I also have a mint example from the 1989 Trailbusters series and a China-cast late-blackwall version from 1997.
