The Hot Wheels Baja Bug – an off-road VW Beetle with a super-tuned engine and a roll-cage inside – made its debut in the 1984 Hot Wheels Real Riders series. The popular casting has since been produced in about 65 variations and counting. This white model with Blazin’ Bug flames tampo and blackwalls is from the 1987 Trailbusters series and is another of my finds from a visit to the Paramount East antique mall during the December holiday break.

Cool casting, Matchbox and Hot Wheels have produced so many off road Beetles, I might need to get out the bug spray….
Yes, there are a lot of Beetles out there. But, I don’t think most of them are the biting kind 😉
