1978 Ford Escort RS2000

In 1978, I would have been 12 years old. I actually remember standing in front of the Matchbox display at the Osco Drug. I knew I was too old to be playing with cars, but I really wanted this one. I was interested in the idea of rally racing and I loved the look of this “normal, everyday” car plastered with sponsor decals, racing stripes and the big number 9. It was the last car I bought as a kid.
